Lot 612 Colt Army Special .38 Spl #381752

Vintage American made double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, manufactured circa 1915 in Hartford, CT. Revolver has a polished blued finish, and built on the medium 'E' frame. Featuring a 6" round barrel, six-round fluted cylinder, round front sight blade, with 'U' notched top strap rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, smooth curved trigger, two-toned hammer with polished sides, checkered hammer spur, firing pin on hammer nose, and two-piece checkered plastic grips with 'Colt' at the top and a 'C' around the screw escutcheon. A two-line Colt address and patent dates are on top of the Barrel. "Colt Army Special" is marked on the left side of barrel, and a 'Rampant Colt" symbol is on the left side of the frame. The original blued finish retained is approximately 85% with edge wear, and scattered minor scratches, and thinning along the front strap. Metal displays patina where the bluing has faded and on the sides of the hammer, and a few scattered small spots of rust on the frame, but metal shows no deformation. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also excellent. The action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up. Grips are very good with scattered minor scratches, and the grip screw shows rust.
Condition is NRA Good.
